 德国之行美文欣赏

The tour in Germany

作者:董潇(09年中德文化交流团员)

I paid a visit to Germany during the last week of our summer holiday with some other Chinese students and our teacher Thomas. The trip was fascinating and meaningful for we met German friends and felt the difference between two cultures. I’ve learned a lot about a foreign country. While talking with German friends, I began to know more about their real life and what they thought. What impressed me most was the fact that German and Chinese students are really in different worlds.

The education system is quite different in two countries. According to what German students said, they have more freedom because they have more chances of choosing the courses they like to take. I can feel it is obvious that German students are not as knowledgeable as Chinese, but they have more skills. ‘The skills’ include the skills of enjoying the life, using hands to make things and even making money. German students have enough time to develop their interests and learn the things which they cannot learn at school. Compared to them, Chinese are much better at doing homework and studying what their teachers have taught. However, our students are weak when they imagine or do things with their hands. With their imagination being limited and the lack of the development of their abilities, Chinese students seem to be educated to take exams rather than to live in the future.

As I mentioned, life of German students is much more colorful. They go to parties on weekends, go swimming in the lake, go to bar and enjoy a glass of beer, play football and even make money. German teenagers are more independent and they don’t rely too much on their parents. But Chinese students are usually too busy doing schoolwork to enjoy the life or do their own things. We can say, German students know much more about how to live. They have less pressure, which probably means the lack of awareness of competition. But they seem to be happier.

But German students don’t pay much attention to politics or social problems. For example, they all say taxes in Germany are not reasonable enough but few of them can tell us what the real problem is and the solutions they can think of. They are not open enough when they talk about the problems of their country. In another way, German government makes their people quite satisfied.

We visited two factories in Germany. The technology was impressive but not new enough. In China there have been numerous factories equipped with such high technology. However, the problem is we don’t have the ‘key’. We cannot update the technology by ourselves. One of these two factories is quite proud of its ability of developing the technology. Our factories really need to learn to develop by themselves.

In Germany the view is really beautiful. The countryside and small towns are full of harmony and peace. People lead a peaceful and idyllic life, free of influence of strangers. Their days are busy, but in the afternoon they are relaxed. People there are wealthy but not hungry for more money. What they prefer is enjoying their life and working with enough freedom and space of their own.

We also visited the mayor of a small town called Attendorn. German government is very different from it in China . At the thought of our city hall, I can always think of the policemen and guards outside the door. The mayor is also far away from us. But in Germany we can sit down and listen to mayor’s speech, eating cakes and enjoying drinks at the same time. Although we were guests and specially welcomed, I could also feel the German democracy. There is no protection outside the town hall. Even the town hall itself is a small typical German house, not a high –rise building. I cannot imagine our government to be like this, but the officers should be closer to people.

Another thing is German’s awareness of rules. Teenagers are not punctual as we thought, but they won’t break the rules. Drivers are quite ‘polite’ on the roads.

These years China is developing at a really high speed. Some people even come up with a concept called G2, which means China is becoming richer and stronger. I used to accept this situation without doubt but after visiting Germany , I can really feel the distance between China and developed countries. Our big cities like Shanghai and Beijing are highly developed, even more modern than ones in Germany , but our development is by no means balanced. If we go to rural areas in China , we will not only see the peaceful view, but also dirty roads and quite ugly houses. In Germany I felt their villages are just more comfortable than cities. Our country has done well recently but the road is still very long. The government has to help give people better living conditions. Our people don’t have free medical care and free education, either.

I can see trees everywhere in Germany . Usually you cannot find a mountain which does not have many trees. Trees are also planted beside the high way. Obviously German people have already begun to pay attention to environmental protection.

People’s ways of thinking are different in two cultures. That’s partly because Germany has highly developed and people don’t make every effort to earn money anymore. People prefer to do what they like to. In China lots of people think one can be happy only if he is wealthy enough. Many German choose their jobs not because of the salary, but according to their willing and thoughts. Many teenagers choose to be volunteers.

Financial crisis exert a great influence on Germany . Companies have to reduce the number of their employees. The town Attendorn has been in debt. German people are not positive as Chinese when they talk about the future.

When we talked about history, I was surprised by German’s attitude towards what they had done to Jews. They felt guilty and shame very much. Even they don’t like to show their love of country because of this. Their attitude has been beyond my imagination.

In a word, Germany is a country full of rules but enough freedom. Environment is being well protected and technology is being developed all the time. There are still many problems but more advantages and experiences for China to refer to. We have lots of things to improve.

This trip is really important and it’s worth taking. I am looking forward to seeing German friends again in October.

The trip to Germany, the trip I will remember forever

作者:刘博(09年中德文化交流团员)

Firstly, I want to thank Thomas School sincerely for giving me this valuable chance to go to Germany. I experienced a different kind of culture in this trip. I learned a lot in this trip. I made new friends in this trip. It is a trip which I will remember forever.

All this summer holiday, I've been looking forward to this trip to Germany. And now I just can't believe the fact that it is over and I am already back in China. It's just like a dream, a beautiful dream.

The moment I stepped on the land of Germany, I was shocked by the extremely clean environment. I just can’t describe the cleanliness there, you can only feel it by yourself. Trees can be seen almost everywhere and the air is so clean that I want to breathe in more.

Mr.Neufurth picked us up at the airport and took us to Akademie Biggesee, where we would live and do discussions. On the way to the Akademie, we just can’t stop seeing the beautiful scenery outside and taking photos. I was so attracted to the beautiful houses and I didn’t even feel anything when the bus stopped.

We met the German friends that afternoon, and instead of introducing ourselves, we introduced each other to everyone in a new way. The German students were nothing like what I thought before I met them. It is quite surprising that they are kind, friendly and easy-going. We got on very well with each other in the following days.

The first thing we did about this cultural exchange was to introduce the advantages and disadvantages of our own country. I have to say that all of us did a great job. We can find out what is good for our own country and we can face the problems of our own country. Also, I was very astonished to see that we can express ourselves in English quite well and we were not afraid of making mistakes. Of course, this activity reminded us of the importance of teamwork as well and we still had to work as a team in the next days.

Next, we had to choose five most important things in your life from many cards and exchange ideas with your group members. It was a hard job because there were so many things that are important in our lives and it was really difficult to give up any of them. However, we managed to pick out five of them and it was quite clear that although we grew up in different countries, we still had a lot in common.

The third thing to do was to find out the problems of now and future. I could see that we were not as optimistic as before. There were so many problems for us to face and we had the responsibility to solve the problems in the future.

The things we did was just a preparation for the last big thing, what Mr. Neufurth called a project. We had to build a fantasy city and made a constitution for it with our heads and hands. I had to say this is really hard for we Chinese students because we really don’t have such activities. At first, I didn’t have much confidence in myself but it turned out to be very interesting and I was surprised to see that I was able to do this kind of activity. It was hard to imagine that we were able to turn wooden blocks, leaves and paper into a beautiful model of a fantasy city. During the building process, I was impressed by the creativity of the German students. We could not finish this work without their help. I was also happy to see that every group’s city was so good and all the cities should be called masterpiece.

We visited the factory of KIRCHHOFF and the factory of HENSEL the next day. What moved me was their hospitality and what impressed me was that both factories are environmentally friendly.

On the last day, we visited the government of Olpe and the government of Attendorn. I got to know what the government of Olpe did for the young people and learned the history of Attendorn.

Besides the scheduled activities, I spent a lot of time with my German friends. I drank a kind of beer called Krombacher with them, which they told me they were proud of. I ate the delicious Döner with them and I still have the taste in my mouth right now! I chatted  in the fireplace which had no fire at all with them. I played table tennis with them. I played table soccer with them and I…

There’re so many things we did together that I couldn’t say all of them.

Two countries, two civilizations, one world.

I think now I understand the meaning of the theme of this activity. We’re not only the citizens of our own country, we’re also the citizens of the whole world. No matter where we’re from, we young people should work together to make this world a better place.

After the farewell dinner, it was time to say goodbye. It is always hard to say goodbye and it is always hard to leave without sorrow. The trip was short but our friendship will last forever. This is a trip I will never forget.

Goodbye, Germany.

Goodbye, my German friends.

See you in October.

The experience in Germany

作者:管小宇(09年中德文化交流团员)

It is a great honor to be a number of this group to go to Germany. Thanks Thomas School for giving me this opportunity.

I think this journey is very interesting, significant and valuable. During these seven days, I not only made friends with Chinese students in our group, but also developed many deep friendships with German students.

During a trip from Frankfurt Airport to the Akademie Biggesee, the school which we studied and lived in, a lot of magnetic landscapes drew our attention. So everyone took photos without thinking.

The Akademie Biggesee is a very beautiful building and looks like a villa. When we got into the building, it is much larger than what we thought before.  It is quite clean and tidy everywhere. When we went out in our spare time, no matter how fast the cars run, they would stop to let people go first.  Of course every one on the buses or cars should fasten safety belt.

German people obeyed the rules which give me deep impression. In Germany, every one would try their best to help us in friendly manner. So it made me most comfortable and safe.

Every part of this journey is worth saying.  Now I want to introduce the first part:

We were divided into 6 teams, 3 Chinese teams and 3 German teams. We talked about the advantages and disadvantages in each country. To my surprise, every team can inform their own problems. Chinese people always came up with corruption, education and population problems.. while German students listed their high taxes, global warming, wrong deal of beauty problems.  I believe that every one in the group will persist to change their country to solve these problems. Meanwhile, we can learn each other’s advantages and use them to develop our own countries.

After three days’ seminars, we visited two companies and city government and the town government. Each governor from different place showed us enthusiasm. They let us know German people’s efficiency and rigorous style.

In the government, we knew a lot about the difference between Chinese students and German students. Every holiday, many volunteers play with children to develop their skills what they like most. They are free to receive a lot of training to learn something very useful.

I must say again that I am really delighted to take this opportunity to visit Germany and have this excellent experience, I felt sad to say goodbye to my German and Chinese friends. I hope there will be another chance to go to Germany and other countries. I am eager to meet with my friends again.

A Memorable Trip to Germany

作者:迟泉功(09年中德文化交流团员)

I see what I never saw.

I do what I never did.

I experience what I never experienced.

I imagine what I never imagined.

The trip to Germany is just like a fantasy. Although weve been back for a few days, however, Ill never forget every happy moment I spent there.

Above all, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Thomas School and German government for offering me this great opportunity. I appreciate the trip very much. I think this is the most important journey in my life so far, for it not only changed my sense of value but also changed my future plan. Before that, I can never imagine how we can get close to foreign friends because we have a lot of differences in our cultures. But in fact, its not as complicated as I thought before. Just as the slogan goes two countries, two civilizations, one world.

I was deeply attracted by the new country the moment I get out of the plane. I just wanted to breathe the air from every corner of the new place.  Mr. Neufurth picked us up punctually. On our way to Akademie Biggesee, everybody was surrendered to the excellent traffic and beautiful scenery. I took lots of photos without hesitation and we arrived at the Akademie unconsciously.

Its completely a new style for us to introduce each other instead of introduce ourselves. After that, we were divided into several groups to do some group work in the following days.

The first thing we did was to introduce our own country, both advantages and disadvantages. I was totally astonished when I saw the German students talk so frankly that they didn’t hide anything, even the worst part of their country. It gave me an impression that I could communicate with everybody here openly and heartily.

The next we did is to pick out the aim and value of our future from many cards. When we exchanged our cards, I found that indeed we share a lot in common. Maybe this is the reason I appreciate the teamwork because we can find a lot of similarities from different cultures, different civilizations and different nationalities.

The last thing we did together was to built a fantasy city. I dare say we will never see this kinds of activities in China. We drew a map first, and then we made our constitutions and finally we built our city with various materials. I will never forget the great rapture the moment we finished our masterpiece. Moreover, I think the process was worth cherishing, for everybody dedicated their own part and the teamwork with foreigners gave me a lot of creative ideas.

We spent the last two days visiting two local factories and the governments of Attendorn and Olpe. Though some of the managers and governors couldn’t speak English, we were still moved by their enthusiastic welcome and hospitality.

Besides the above, I think Im the most lucky one who experienced almost every aspect of German culture.

We went to bar together to drink Krombacher beer which all the Germans are proud of.

We ate Döner together on the way back to Akademie.

We swam together in the Biggesee that we even forgot the coldness of the water.

We played rugby together on the road without autos.

We played the guitar together and we sang a song together.

We played tricks together.

We played words games together.

We learnt German and Chinese together.

We laughed together.

We smiled together.

…………………..

…………………..

…………………..

And we did a lot of other memorable things together.

I can still remember everyone took pictures with me in the last evening.

I can still remember everyone hugged me tightly in the next morning.

I can still remember when I was weeping all my way home, everyone has already rooted down inside of my heart.

On the last day, when Tobi and Martin asked me whether I enjoyed my trip in Germany, I answered them without hesitation: I enjoy every moment here, and I cherish every minute here.

Happy time is always short, but the memories will last forever and the friendship will last forever.

I have to say thanks once more to Thomas School and German government, thank you for broaden my outlook.

Thanks, my German friends. Thank you for considering me as a friend and sharing your cultures with me.

Thanks, Germany. Thank you for your excellent environment and enthusiastic hospitality.

Good-bye German friends.

Good-bye Germany.

Im looking forward to see my friends in China in October.

Welcome to China.
